"You Are What You Drink" was written around the time James Bay and Daughter come into the music scene and I think at the time I was starting to write the basic idea of verses sometimes chorus's and then going to the boys to write the rest and I guess it was something which instantly felt catchy like it was Uncle Krackers "Follow Me". The lyrics are a bit typical country singing about getting drunk. Anyone who's seen us live will know me and Tyla like a drink, I wouldn't say it's ever been a problem but I guess at the time of writing this I was realising how many stupid situations I was getting myself into when drunk and kinda thinking how stupid it was but then at the same time in the chaos when I was getting drunk and not bottling stuff up I had these moments of clarity and pure golden memories (At SXSW many drunken adventures were had). I guess it's a light hearted song reminding myself the fine line between drink being your best friend and enemy.
