How Could I Not Hear was written when I was listening to a lot of 90's music., at one point I wanted us to do decade influenced EP/Album releases. We had a few songs like Happy Being Miserable that fit perfectly in that EP, then there was Birdy song and a few other filling the 70's and 80's(maybe an idea for the future still). The song was written lyrically when I found myself discovering so many songs from the 90's which I could've heard on car radios passing by or on the TV but at that time I was being a kid playing in the fields not really listening to anyone. It's mad that 20 years later I was hearing this distorted/poetic music that seemed like it was defining me more all that time later and I couldn't see it all those years before. There's a lot of band references in this song, so see how many you can notice?
I think this song was also influenced by The Xcerts and Hoobastank randomly at the time.
