Gambling man was heavily influenced by Fleetwood Mac as you will most likely hear. I think this was written when Tyla had a new guitar, new guitars always give you a good first riff not sure what it is but I'm sure we've written many good songs from everytime Tyla gets a new guitar. We also wrote this after seeing Fleetwood Mac In Isle of Wight, never quite realised how good Lindsey Buckingham was on guitar until that show and witnessing Big Love live. The lyrics were put to a couple of half written songs In the past and never quite felt right until the journey of this song. One of my all time favourite songs is "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds who I reference twice in the song. The lyrics were written a bit after winning on a 100-1 horse called Aurora's Encore in the Grand National, I've always had a weird relationship with gambling and I've been guilty of it being an unhealthy relationship at times. This song was written to remind myself how lucky I am in life to have someone In life who I love by my side and not to take that for granted.
