We sat in the dock
When the white cliffs of Dover
They came crashing down
Soon we would drown
Our hearts they would sink
Our Eyes they would leak
Water against the cheek
As we try to remember how she would speak
Hanging on to every sound
To every pound
That she gave to me
I’d give it all back
A pound for a pound.
I sat in a black car
Where I was driven to a hole smaller than the one that she left in my life
Surrounded by flowers spelling
Mother, Nan and wife
Then I cry Oh why
My auntie she could not reply
For there is no right answer
Science is telling me to look down
Jesus is telling me to look up
And everything in between just don’t understand
If I stop believing in god
Then I stop believing in her

You Blew It! are one of the finest bands in the emo-revival scene, and this EP where they cover songs off of one of the best albums of all time is no exception. So fucking good. ava
