I'm Not Your Jesus (Don't Follow Me). Can't remember who we were listening to at the time of writing this but I would guess this was influenced by the two bands I've probably referenced most in jam sessions, Kings Of Leon and Coldplay. Although I have a vague memory of being into Dry The River at the time which may have influenced the outro vocals and harmonies. I love the song title as it's quite strong and different. I think at the time I was trying to write something to tell myself that I am a good person and I need to stop trying to carry my own problems as well as everyone's else. In many ways In life I've always wanted to help others but got dumbed down when I can't. One person can't carry the world on their shoulders, you need to share the weight and don't beat yourself up all the time.
The title doesn’t lie; the latest from Christian Fitness puts slap bass at the center of their gnarled, punky songs. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 20, 2017
Post-punk meets a very classic alt-rock sound on the new record from this Chicago group. RIYL The Breeders, Dinosaur Jr, and Yo La Tengo. Bandcamp New & Notable May 4, 2024
Psychedelia at its most fundamental, the new EP from pôt-pot is equal parts Velvet Underground, BJM, and hypnotic vibes. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 30, 2024
